The 4K 4Charity Fun Run is a 4km (2.49-mile) run and walk event held in conjunction with the 2018 NAB Show in Las Vegas. This unique event offers show attendees a healthy alternative to traditional networking while raising much needed funding for diversity and inclusion initiatives. Remember, 100% of your registration fee is tax deductible and goes directly to our beneficiaries.

DETAILS: 

Starting at 7:30 am, the 4km course loops through beautiful Sunset Park. Complimentary bus transportation is provided from select NAB Show hotels*. Buses will depart from select hotels at 6:40am am and return to the same hotels and the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) after the run concludes. Light snacks and beverages will be available before and after the run for all participants to enjoy. Each participant will receive a commemorative race medal, plus special giveaways from our sponsors. Register by March 1st and receive a free race t-shirt.

Girls Who Code is a national non-profit organization working to close the gender gap in technology and change the image of what a programmer looks like and does. With their 7-week Summer Immersion Program, a 2-week specialized Campus Program, after school Clubs, and a 13-book New York Times best-selling series, they are leading the movement to inspire, educate, and equip young women with the computing skills to pursue 21st century opportunities. By the end of the 2018 academic year, Girls Who Code will have reached over 50 thousand girls in all 50 states and several US territories. Funding from the 4K 4Charity Fun Run will be used to support the Girls Who Code Summer Immersion Program Stipend Fund, to help cover transportation or living expenses for students who demonstrate financial need.

 

FIRST = For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology. 

Since 2005, FIRST Nevada (a 501c3 non-profit) has provided STEAM educational programs to K-12 students in Nevada with an emphasis on reaching a diverse student population including at-risk children and youth. Their mission is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities. Funding support from the 4K 4Charity will be used to help cover expenses for their at-risk teams across all four programs (K-12).
